10 tracks (9 previously unreleased) from Chicago's most-known-unknown synth dudes.
Inspired by a tape I found at a secondhand store entitled Flutes Unlimited, BRUTES UNLIMITED is a compilation of disparate solo synth jams, cohesive in that these tracks were recorded upon the acquisition of the extremely affordable analog monosynth, the Micro–or Mini–brute. Featuring rippers from Jeremiah Chiu (Cosmic Son, Icy Demons, Chandeliers), Alex J Beam (Tarnation), Alex Nova (E.T. Habit, Onyx System, PARTNER), Joseph Murphy (Houtakker, J Fernandez, Pieken), Michael Gillilan (Thin Hymns, J Fernandez, GILDER), Jason Sublette (GA'AN, E.T. Habit), Drew Ryan (Courtesy, Domestic Animal, J Fernandez, E.T. Habit) and Kirk Rawlings (Courtesy), this is a rare glimpse at the individuals who make up some of Chicago's most treasured bands.
